- When they had finished their prayer, the place where they were gathered together shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and proclaimed the word of God fearlessly.
- I was eager to respond
to those who did not consult me.
I was anxious to be approached
by those who did not seek me.
I said, “Here I am! Here I am!”
to a nation that did not summon me. - Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise;
if he closes his lips, he is regarded as intelligent. - Jesus answered, “If it is possible! All things are possible for one who has faith.”
- May the Lord, our God, be with us, just as he was with our fathers; may he not leave us or abandon us.
- Jesus replied,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
everyone who sins
is a slave of sin.” - And now, dear children,
abide in him,
so that when he appears
we may have confidence
and not be put to shame by him
at his coming. - Train a child in the way he should go,
and he will not deviate from it, even in old age. - Jesus said to him, “Go on your way! Your faith has made you well.” Immediately, he received his sight and followed him along the road.
- Jesus replied,
“This is the work of God:
to believe in the one whom he has sent.” - For this reason, I rejoice when I endure weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and distress for the sake of Christ. For it is when I am weak that I am strong.
- Indeed, persecution will afflict all who want to lead a godly life in Christ Jesus.
- As long as I remained silent,
my body wasted away
as the result of my groaning throughout the day. - But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Joseph therefore went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David. He went to be registered together with Mary, his betrothed, who was expecting a child.
- God abides in anyone who acknowledges
that Jesus is the Son of God,
and that person abides in God. - Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you have faith you will see the glory of God?”
- For the Son of Man has come to seek out and to save what was lost.
- Who indeed conquers the world
except the one who believes
that Jesus is the Son of God? - They answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, and so too will your household.”
- But for that very reason I was treated mercifully, so that in me Jesus Christ might exhibit his inexhaustible patience, making me an example for those who would come to believe in him for eternal life.
- The one who gives this testimony says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! - For there is one God,
and there is one mediator between God and man,
Christ Jesus, himself a man. - “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “the one who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
- When the Advocate comes
whom I will send you from the Father,
the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father,
he will testify on my behalf.
