Bible Verses about 'Suffer'

But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats. But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”
Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek Yahweh shall not lack any good thing.
For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf.
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us.
A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it.
But God has protected me right up to this present time so I can testify to everyone, from the least to the greatest. I teach nothing except what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and be the first to rise from the dead, and in this way announce God’s light to Jews and Gentiles alike.Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would happen, how the Christ must suffer, and how, by the resurrection of the dead, he would be first to proclaim light both to these people and to the Gentiles.
For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ.
I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death. That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed to his death.
Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble. One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.
So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin. Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.
If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.If you will diligently listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am Yahweh who heals you.
He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber.
I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.I know how to be humbled, and I also know how to abound. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need.
Better to have little, with fear for the Lord, than to have great treasure and inner turmoil.Better is little, with the fear of Yahweh, than great treasure with trouble.
Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.Cast your burden on Yahweh and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.
But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”But Jesus said, “Allow the little children, and don’t forbid them to come to me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these.”
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Do not nurse hatred in your heart for any of your relatives. Confront people directly so you will not be held guilty for their sin. Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against a fellow Israelite, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord. You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people; but you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am Yahweh.
Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.He humbled you, allowed you to be hungry, and fed you with manna, which you didn’t know, neither did your fathers know, that he might teach you that man does not live by bread only, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of Yahweh’s mouth.
