Chinese (traditional)- And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we abound in love for you.
- On God rests my deliverance and my honor;
my mighty rock, my refuge is in God. - In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
- O taste and see that the Lord is good;
happy are those who take refuge in him. - But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
- I delight to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart. - For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Turn, then, and live.
- With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.
- Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what such people do secretly.
- Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love,
for they have been from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to your steadfast love remember me,
for your goodness' sake, O Lord! - Then the Lord God said, “See, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.
- For this is the message you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
- And ‘to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength,’ and ‘to love one's neighbor as oneself,’—this is much more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
- Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
- By day the Lord commands his steadfast love,
and at night his song is with me,
a prayer to the God of my life. - My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. - If you will not listen, if you will not lay it to heart to give glory to my name, says the Lord of hosts, then I will send the curse on you and I will curse your blessings; indeed I have already cursed them, because you do not lay it to heart.
- For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline.
- Now, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care what you do, for there is no perversion of justice with the Lord our God, or partiality, or taking of bribes.
- Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin. - May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.
- Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for the wrath of God; for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
- Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning,
for in you I put my trust.
Teach me the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul. - It is you who light my lamp;
the Lord, my God, lights up my darkness. - For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy. The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time on and forevermore.Next verse!With image
