Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the Lord your God gives you for all time. | Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever. |
Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. | Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. |

Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? | Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? |
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” | Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. |
Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. | Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. |
From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” | From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. |
There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. | There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. |
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. | Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. |
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. | All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. |
Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. | Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. |
Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. | See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. |
Of all the creatures living in the water, you may eat any that has fins and scales. But anything that does not have fins and scales you may not eat; for you it is unclean. | These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat: And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you. |
Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. | That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. |
Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is. | Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. |
Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. | Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. |
The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name. | And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one. |
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. | Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. |
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people. | The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. |
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. | For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. |
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. | That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. |
For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. | For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. |
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. | The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. |
Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. | Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. |
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. | And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope. |
For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. | For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. |
