- Those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
- For you did not receive a spirit of slavery leading to fear; rather, you received the Spirit of adoption, enabling us to cry out, “Abba! Father!”
- The one who sows in his flesh will reap a harvest of corruption, but the one who sows in the Spirit will reap from the Spirit the reward of eternal life.
- There is no holy one like the Lord,
there is none beside you,
nor is there a rock like our God. - Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God:
every spirit that acknowledges
that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh
is from God,
and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus
is not from God.
This is the spirit of the Antichrist,
about whose coming you have been told,
and that it is already in the world. - And the one who searches hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.
- Make every possible effort to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
- For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, Jews as well as Greeks, slaves as well as free men, and we were all given the same Spirit to drink.
- And just as no human being comprehends any person’s innermost being except the person’s own spirit within him, so also no one comprehends what pertains to God except the Spirit of God.
- The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
- For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the Spirit, and those of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh. They are in conflict with one another, so that you cannot do what you want.
- And take the helmet of salvation as well as the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- A cheerful heart is excellent medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - A wholesome tongue is a tree of life,
but an undisciplined tongue crushes the spirit. - If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, then the one who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwells in you.
- If you refrain from traveling on the Sabbath
and from engaging in your own interests on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a day of joy
and regard the Lord’s holy day as honorable,
if you honor it by not going your own way,
serving your own interests,
or attending to your own affairs;
then you will find true happiness in the Lord,
and I will enable you to ride
upon the heights of the earth.
I will nourish you with the heritage of your father Jacob,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
- Do you not realize that you are God’s temple, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
- For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but rather a spirit of power and of love and of wisdom.
- If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person. For the temple of God is holy, and you are that temple.
- The desires of the flesh result in death, but the desires of the Spirit result in life and peace.
- Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a resolute spirit within me. - Stay awake and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak.
- This is the Lord’s message to Zerubbabel: Not by force, nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
Jesus said,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
no one can enter the kingdom of God
unless he is born of water and the Spirit.”Each of us must consider his neighbor’s good for the purpose of building him up.
