Chinese (traditional)- Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.
- A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength. - For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
- This is what the Lord says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
- But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.
- So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.
- For I know that as you pray for me and the Spirit of Jesus Christ helps me, this will lead to my deliverance.
- And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.
- God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
- God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. - Until at last the Spirit is poured out
on us from heaven.
Then the wilderness will become a fertile field,
and the fertile field will yield bountiful crops. - And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.
- Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God.
May your gracious Spirit lead me forward
on a firm footing. - And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
- Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
- Sing praises to God and to his name!
Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds.
His name is the Lord—
rejoice in his presence!
Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—
this is God, whose dwelling is holy. - Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him a thousand years.
- Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.
- You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of complete rest, an official day for holy assembly. It is the Lord’s Sabbath day, and it must be observed wherever you live.
- And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.
- So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.
- In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.
- When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
- For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.
- But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.
