- Let your eyes look straight ahead;
fix your gaze directly before you. - Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”
- I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands. - “And with you, Lord, is unfailing love”;
and, “You reward everyone
according to what they have done.” - My soul yearns for you in the night;
in the morning my spirit longs for you.
When your judgments come upon the earth,
the people of the world learn righteousness. - “Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you. - For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
- I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing.” - And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
- I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. - It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God.
- In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in your righteousness. - Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.
- My lips will shout for joy
when I sing praise to you—
I whom you have delivered. - Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
- Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
- I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous laws. - “No weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and this is their vindication from me,”
declares the Lord. - Cast your cares on the Lord
and he will sustain you;
he will never let
the righteous be shaken. - You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
abounding in love to all who call to you. - Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long. - Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
- Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
- In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly. - I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us nor forsake us.
