Their (4/4)

  • And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
  • He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul;
    but he that despiseth his ways shall die.
  • For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
  • Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise:
    and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
  • Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him:
    fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,
    because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
  • A fool uttereth all his mind:
    but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
  • But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
  • A fool's wrath is presently known:
    but a prudent man covereth shame.
  • Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
  • Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
  • And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.
  • For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
  • I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
  • For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
  • Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.
  • Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
    whose mind is stayed on thee:
    because he trusteth in thee.
  • Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness:
    for they shall be filled.
  • A fool hath no delight in understanding,
    but that his heart may discover itself.
  • For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
  • The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious;
    but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.
  • And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
  • The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.
  • The ransom of a man's life are his riches:
    but the poor heareth not rebuke.
  • Envy thou not the oppressor,
    and choose none of his ways.
    For the froward is abomination to the Lord:
    but his secret is with the righteous.
  • For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

Bible verse of the day

Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord.
Lord, hear my voice:
let thine ears be attentive
to the voice of my supplications.
