- Yet I have been the Lord your God
ever since the land of Egypt;
you know no God but me,
and besides me there is no savior. - From there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find him if you search after him with all your heart and soul.
- So acknowledge today and take to heart that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.
- On the last day of the festival, the great day, while Jesus was standing there, he cried out, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me.”
- “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.” - For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has—not according to what one does not have.
- In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
- Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
- O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. - Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the sabbath day.
- Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
- Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
- Hence, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that “no idol in the world really exists,” and that “there is no God but one.”
- Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.
- Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show mercy to you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
blessed are all those who wait for him. - Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my thoughts.
See if there is any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting. - I reprove and discipline those whom I love. Be earnest, therefore, and repent.
- Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
- There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love.
- Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
- Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour.
- Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear.
- Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing.
- Every generous act of giving, with every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
- Let every person be subject to the governing authorities; for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God.
