This (2/4)

  • I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
  • This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
  • The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.
  • While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
  • In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”
  • Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
  • This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
  • Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
  • Now all has been heard;
    here is the conclusion of the matter:
    Fear God and keep his commandments,
    for this is the duty of all mankind.
  • But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
  • And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
  • Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
  • And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
  • Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame.
  • This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
  • This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
  • Whoever loves money never has enough;
    whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income.
    This too is meaningless.
  • To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
  • This is what the Lord says to Israel: “Seek me and live.”
  • Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
  • Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”
  • But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
  • This, then, is how you should pray:
    ‘Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name,
    your kingdom come,
    your will be done,
    on earth as it is in heaven.’
  • All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.
  • On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
