The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them. | The one who eats everything must not look contemptuously on the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed both. |
The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. | Indeed, the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. |
Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased. | Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to all those on whom his favor rests. |
