- “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. - O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off. - Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
- For You, O God, have tested us;
You have refined us as silver is refined. - For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,

- But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Though you are little among the thousands of Judah,
Yet out of you shall come forth to Me
The One to be Ruler in Israel,
Whose goings forth are from of old,
From everlasting. - You are my hiding place;
You shall preserve me from trouble;
You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
- For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
- What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him? - But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!
- O my soul, you have said to the Lord,
“You are my Lord,
My goodness is nothing apart from You.” - For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
With favor You will surround him as with a shield. - Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. - Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established. - Though an army may encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me,
In this I will be confident. - Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
- And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
- With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful;
With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless. - Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God. - I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.
- Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”
- But now, O Lord,
You are our Father;
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all we are the work of Your hand. - And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
- But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine.
- But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
- His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
- Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
- Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
- Oh, how great is Your goodness,
Which You have laid up for those who fear You,
Which You have prepared for those who trust in You
In the presence of the sons of men! - When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it;
For He has no pleasure in fools.
Pay what you have vowed. - This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
- Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. - You are all fair, my love,
And there is no spot in you. - You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
- For a thousand years in Your sight
Are like yesterday when it is past,
And like a watch in the night. - For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.
- Do not say,
“Why were the former days better than these?”
For you do not inquire wisely concerning this. - You are my hiding place and my shield;
I hope in Your word. - But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
- For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
- My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him. - Nevertheless in Your great mercy
You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them;
For You are God, gracious and merciful. - When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you. - Before the mountains were brought forth,
Or ever You had formed the earth and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. - “Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be as wool.”
