Bible Verses about 'Thou'
- O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. - You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things.
- “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” - You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you! - You have tested us, O God;
you have purified us like silver. - You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.
- For you are my hiding place;
you protect me from trouble.
You surround me with songs of victory. - For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. - But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.
- No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit.
- For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.” These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
- What are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them? - Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly?
- But from there you will search again for the Lord your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.
- You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.
- I said to the Lord, “You are my Master!
Every good thing I have comes from you.” - For you bless the godly, O Lord;
you surround them with your shield of love. - Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. - To the faithful you show yourself faithful;
to those with integrity you show integrity. - For you, a thousand years are as a passing day,
as brief as a few night hours. - Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
- And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
- Why am I discouraged?
Why is my heart so sad?
I will put my hope in God!
I will praise him again—
my Savior and my God! - I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.
- Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?”
- And yet, O Lord, you are our Father.
We are the clay, and you are the potter.
We all are formed by your hand. - As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching.
- But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
- The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’
- Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!
- Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”

- You are altogether beautiful, my darling,
beautiful in every way. - Do not nurse hatred in your heart for any of your relatives. Confront people directly so you will not be held guilty for their sin. Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against a fellow Israelite, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
- The Lord your God will bless you as he has promised. You will lend money to many nations but will never need to borrow. You will rule many nations, but they will not rule over you.
- Don’t long for “the good old days.”
This is not wise. - You are my refuge and my shield;
your word is my source of hope. - But when you fast, comb your hair and wash your face. Then no one will notice that you are fasting, except your Father, who knows what you do in private. And your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
- How great is the goodness
you have stored up for those who fear you.
You lavish it on those who come to you for protection,
blessing them before the watching world. - Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in him. - But in your great mercy, you did not destroy them completely or abandon them forever. What a gracious and merciful God you are!
- When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you. - Before the mountains were born,
before you gave birth to the earth and the world,
from beginning to end, you are God. - And may the Lord our God show us his approval
and make our efforts successful.
Yes, make our efforts successful! - Others were given in exchange for you.
I traded their lives for yours
because you are precious to me.
You are honored, and I love you. - Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent;
with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent. - “Come now, let’s settle this,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
I will make them as white as snow.
Though they are red like crimson,
I will make them as white as wool.” - O Lord, I will honor and praise your name,
for you are my God.
You do such wonderful things!
You planned them long ago,
and now you have accomplished them. - If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
