- O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar. - For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. - Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.
- For you, O God, have tested us;
you have tried us as silver is tried. - For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts. - You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
- But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
- You are a hiding place for me;
you preserve me from trouble;
you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah - For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
- What is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him? - But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!
- Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident. - I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - For you bless the righteous, O Lord;
you cover him with favor as with a shield. - Trust in the Lord, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. - For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

- When I thought, “My foot slips,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. - And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
- With the merciful you show yourself merciful;
with the blameless man you show yourself blameless. - Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God. - I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.
- Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?”
- But now, O Lord, you are our Father;
we are the clay, and you are our potter;
we are all the work of your hand. - So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
- Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
- But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.
- But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
- Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
- When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow.
- Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of the children of mankind! - This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
- You are altogether beautiful, my love;
there is no flaw in you. - For a thousand years in your sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
or as a watch in the night. - Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me. - You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
- For the Lord your God will bless you, as he promised you, and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow, and you shall rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over you.
- Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?”
For it is not from wisdom that you ask this. - You are my hiding place and my shield;
I hope in your word. - But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him. - Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
- When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you. - Before the mountains were brought forth,
or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God. - Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool. - Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us,
and establish the work of our hands upon us;
yes, establish the work of our hands! - Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good,
and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. - Because you are precious in my eyes,
and honored, and I love you,
I give men in return for you,
peoples in exchange for your life.
