- For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. - For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts. - But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
- O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar. - Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident. - For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
- When I thought, “My foot slips,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. - So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
- For a thousand years in your sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
or as a watch in the night. - Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.
- Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool. - Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good,
and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. - For you, O God, have tested us;
you have tried us as silver is tried. - For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.
- You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
- You are a hiding place for me;
you preserve me from trouble;
you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah - Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me. - For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
- What is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him? - Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin! - Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting! - Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
- But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!
- I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.”
For you bless the righteous, O Lord;
you cover him with favor as with a shield.The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. May he not leave us or forsake us. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.Next verse!With image
