Bible Verses about 'Verily'

  • Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.”
  • Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
  • I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message.
  • I tell you the truth, anyone who welcomes my messenger is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming the Father who sent me.
  • Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.”
  • I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.
  • Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
  • I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.
  • Paul said, “John’s baptism called for repentance from sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the one who would come later, meaning Jesus.”
  • And when you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, for they try to look miserable and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. I tell you the truth, that is the only reward they will ever get.
  • When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get.
  • “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”
  • I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.

And in the world to come that person will have eternal life.”

all your just regulations will stand forever.
  • You must be holy because I, the Lord, am holy. I have set you apart from all other people to be my very own.

and banish the very thought of doing wrong.
Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them.
Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.
  • See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.
  • Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where he was tempted by the devil for forty days. Jesus ate nothing all that time and became very hungry.

You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things.
