| For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. | For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. |

| Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. | Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. |
| Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. | Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. |
| For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. | For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. |
| “And with you, Lord, is unfailing love”; and, “You reward everyone according to what they have done.” | Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work. |
| A wicked person earns deceptive wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. | The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. |

| The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. | But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. | But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. |
