What then should we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet, if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For what human being knows what is truly human except the human spirit that is within? Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have come to call not the righteous but sinners. When goods increase, those who eat them increase; and what gain has their owner but to see them with his eyes? See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1 John 3:1	Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. love Father children
What is desirable in a person is loyalty, and it is better to be poor than a liar. Proverbs 19:22	The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar. reliability money goodness
But even if you do suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear, and do not be intimidated. 1 Peter 3:14	But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled. righteousness suffering fear
But test everything; hold fast to what is good; abstain from every form of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22	Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. understanding evil prophecy
What then are we to say? Should we continue in sin in order that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin go on living in it? Romans 6:1-2	What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? sin grace life
And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:27	And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Spirit mediator
Be on your guard, so that you do not lose what we have worked for, but may receive a full reward. 2 John 1:8	Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. reward self-control work
For what the flesh desires is opposed to the Spirit, and what the Spirit desires is opposed to the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you want. But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be done in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Woe to you who strive with your Maker, earthen vessels with the potter! Does the clay say to the one who fashions it, “What are you making”? or “Your work has no handles”?

Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
