This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house. Never abandon a friend— either yours or your father’s. When disaster strikes, you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance. It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away. You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. One Sabbath day as Jesus was walking through some grainfields, his disciples began breaking off heads of grain to eat. Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit. Proverbs 23:4	Don’t weary yourself to be rich. In your wisdom, show restraint. money greed planning
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:16	Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need. grace prayer mercy
When the Gentiles sin, they will be destroyed, even though they never had God’s written law. And the Jews, who do have God’s law, will be judged by that law when they fail to obey it. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it.
