Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. | Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. |
Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be joyful. | He who heeds the Word finds prosperity. Whoever trusts in Yahweh is blessed. |
Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. | Blessed are those who keep his statutes, who seek him with their whole heart. |
But the one who endures to the end will be saved. | But he who endures to the end will be saved. |
Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything. | He who guards his mouth guards his soul. One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. |
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. | We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. |
God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. | Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. |
Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. | Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock. |
What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? | What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? |
John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.” | He answered them, “He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none. He who has food, let him do likewise.” |
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. | I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |
That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. | Those who are in the flesh can’t please God. |
The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. | For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. |
But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! | But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. |
But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. | You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. |

Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell. | Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. |
