- O how abundant is your goodness
that you have laid up for those who fear you,
and accomplished for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of everyone! - Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
- But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to make this freewill offering? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.
- Very truly, I tell you, whoever receives one whom I send receives me; and whoever receives me receives him who sent me.
- Great peace have those who love your law;
nothing can make them stumble. - Woe to you who strive with your Maker,
earthen vessels with the potter!
Does the clay say to the one who fashions it, “What are you making”?
or “Your work has no handles”? - No one who conceals transgressions will prosper,
but one who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. - Everyone who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
- But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”
- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.
- For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
- Those who are wise understand these things;
those who are discerning know them.
For the ways of the Lord are right,
and the upright walk in them,
but transgressors stumble in them. - Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
- No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
- O taste and see that the Lord is good;
happy are those who take refuge in him. - Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right,
and speak the truth from their heart;
who do not slander with their tongue,
and do no evil to their friends,
nor take up a reproach against their neighbors. - For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
- For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
- The Lord redeems the life of his servants;
none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. - And said to them, “Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me; for the least among all of you is the greatest.”
- But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - To get wisdom is to love oneself;
to keep understanding is to prosper. - Indeed, all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
- Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
