- He said to them in reply, “Anyone who has two coats must share with the person who has none, and whoever has food must do likewise.”
- Adulterers! Do you not know that love of the world results in enmity with God? Therefore, whoever wishes to be a lover of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
- Whoever observes the commandments will live,
but the one who scorns them will die. - Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise,
but he who mingles with fools will suffer harm. - Whoever feeds upon my flesh and drinks my blood
dwells in me and I dwell in him. - But whoever drinks the water that I will give him
will never be thirsty.
The water that I will give him
will become a spring of water within him
welling up to eternal life. - The one who pays heed to instruction prospers,
and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. - Whoever believes in him is not condemned,
but whoever does not believe in him
already stands condemned,
because he has not believed in the name
of the only-begotten Son of God. - But whoever endures to the end will be saved.
- Indeed, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
- Therefore, you have no excuse, whoever you may be, when you pass judgment on others. For in judging others you condemn yourself, since you are doing the same things.
- No one who conceals his transgressions will prosper,
but one who confesses and renounces them will obtain mercy. - Whoever believes in me,
as Scripture has said,
‘Streams of living water
shall flow from within him.’ - Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father,
so whoever feeds upon me will live because of me. - Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be accomplished for him.
- And the world with all its enticements
is passing away,
but whoever does the will of God
abides forever. - Jesus then said to her,
“I am the resurrection and the life.
Whoever believes in me,
even though he dies, will live,
and everyone who lives
and believes in me
will never die.
Do you believe this?” - And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
- Then it will come to pass
that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. - Whoever gains wisdom loves his own soul;
one who cherishes understanding will prosper. - For God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish
but may attain eternal life. - Then he sat down, summoned the Twelve, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to be first, he must become the last of all and the servant of all.”
- This is the commandment
we have received from him:
whoever loves God
must also love his brother. - Where many words are spoken, sin is not absent,
but whoever restrains his tongue is prudent. - But without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever comes to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
If anyone is rich in worldly possessions
and sees a brother in need
but refuses to open his heart,
how can the love of God abide in him?Do you suppose that I cannot appeal to my Father for help and he will not immediately send me more than twelve legions of angels?
