- Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’
- And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
- Love prospers when a fault is forgiven,
but dwelling on it separates close friends. - Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
- Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God.
- So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin.
- Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.
- And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
- The man who finds a wife finds a treasure,
and he receives favor from the Lord. - I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh.
- But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.
- The generous will prosper;
those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. - We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.
God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. - A person without self-control
is like a city with broken-down walls. - Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.”
- To acquire wisdom is to love yourself;
people who cherish understanding will prosper. - But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers.
- And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.
- Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back.
- The father of godly children has cause for joy.
What a pleasure to have children who are wise. - Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears;
wealth from hard work grows over time. - Too much talk leads to sin.
Be sensible and keep your mouth shut. - But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
- Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.
- He is the one all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone who believes in him will have their sins forgiven through his name.
