Whoever (4/4)

  • Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness!
  • Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
  • Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.
  • I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.
  • Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.”
  • Those who control their tongue will have a long life;
    opening your mouth can ruin everything.
  • Let those who are wise understand these things.
    Let those with discernment listen carefully.
    The paths of the Lord are true and right,
    and righteous people live by walking in them.
    But in those paths sinners stumble and fall.
  • For the Scriptures say,
    “If you want to enjoy life
    and see many happy days,
    keep your tongue from speaking evil
    and your lips from telling lies.
    Turn away from evil and do good.
    Search for peace, and work to maintain it.”
  • You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
  • And a great road will go through that once deserted land.
    It will be named the Highway of Holiness.
    Evil-minded people will never travel on it.
    It will be only for those who walk in God’s ways;
    fools will never walk there.
  • Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.
  • A gossip goes around telling secrets,
    but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.
  • Better to be patient than powerful;
    better to have self-control than to conquer a city.
  • Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.”
  • Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law.
  • Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”
  • Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.
  • Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body.
  • So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.
  • Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
    will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
    This I declare about the Lord:
    He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
    he is my God, and I trust him.
  • But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
  • But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.
