| Therefore, heed my words. Do not be concerned about your life and what you will have to eat or drink, or about your body and what you will wear. | When you look at the tassels, you will remember the commandments of the Lord and keep them. Thus you will not prostitute yourselves by following after the lusts in your own heart or your own eyes. | It shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the Lord, so that you will do them and not follow your own heart and your own eyes, which led you to prostitute yourselves. |
| Do not let your hearts be troubled. You place your trust in God. Trust also in me. | Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. |
| If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you. | If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. |
| It is the Lord, your God, whom you are to follow. You must fear him and observe his commandments and obey what he tells you and serve him and hold fast to him. | You shall follow the Lord your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him. |

| Do not repay evil with evil or abuse with abuse. On the contrary, repay with a blessing. This is what you were called to do, so that you might inherit a blessing. | Not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you would inherit a blessing. |
| Keep alert; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. | Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. |
| You shall observe my commandments and obey them. I am the Lord. | So you shall keep My commandments, and do them; I am the Lord. |
| Observe my Sabbaths and stand in awe before my sanctuary. I am the Lord. | You shall keep My Sabbaths and revere My sanctuary; I am the Lord. |
| I have told you this so that in me you may be in peace. In the world you will endure suffering. But take courage! I have overcome the world. | These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. |
| But as for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and therefore you do not need anyone to teach you. This same anointing teaches you everything and is true and not false, so abide in him just as he taught you. | And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him remains in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you remain in Him. |
