- And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

- And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
- And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
- And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
- But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
- Teach me to do thy will;
for thou art my God:
thy spirit is good;
lead me into the land of uprightness. - For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
- Oh how great is thy goodness,
which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee;
which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee
before the sons of men! - I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers,
who hast given me wisdom and might,
and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee:
for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter. - For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
- Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
