- Meanwhile, the Church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace, building up strength and living in the fear of the Lord. Encouraged by the Holy Spirit, the Church grew in numbers.
- Above his head was inscribed the charge against him: “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”

- But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.
- Be still and acknowledge that I am God,
exalted among the nations,
exalted on the earth. - Finally, all of you should be united in spirit, sympathetic, filled with love for one another, compassionate, and humble.
- Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.
- I have given you a command. Be strong and brave, do not be afraid nor dismayed. I, the Lord, your God, will be with you wherever you go.
- Do not judge, so that you in turn may not be judged.
- Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed;
save me, and I will be saved;
you are the one whom I praise. - Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory shine over all the earth. - Joseph therefore went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David. He went to be registered together with Mary, his betrothed, who was expecting a child.
- The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me
because the Lord has anointed me.
He has sent me to announce good news to the oppressed,
to strengthen the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom to those held in captivity
and release to those who have been imprisoned. - Let no foul word ever pass your lips. Say only what is useful for edification, so that your words may benefit your listeners.
- On one Sabbath as Jesus was teaching in the synagogue, a woman was present, possessed by a spirit that had crippled her for eighteen years. She was bent over and completely unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.” Then he laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and began praising God.
But the leader of the synagogue was indignant because Jesus had effected a cure on the Sabbath, and he said to the assembled people, “There are six days when work is permitted. Come on those days and be cured, and not on the Sabbath.” The Lord said to him in reply, “You hypocrites! Is there a single one of you who does not untie his ox or his donkey and lead it from its stall to give it water on the Sabbath? Should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has held bound for eighteen long years, be set free from this bondage on the Sabbath?” At these words, all his adversaries were put to shame, and the people rejoiced at all the wonderful things he was doing. - And now it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. The life I live now in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.
- A generous person will be enriched;
he who refreshes others will also be refreshed. - Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
- When Jesus heard this, he said, “Do not be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be saved.”
- Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
- The Lord will become king over the whole earth. When that day comes, he will be the only Lord, and his name will be the only name.
- You shall be holy, for I, the Lord, am holy. I have chosen you from among all people that you shall be mine.
