- Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!
No one can measure his greatness. - A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
- Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?
- The rich can pay a ransom for their lives,
but the poor won’t even get threatened. - Riches won’t help on the day of judgment,
but right living can save you from death. - Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.
- The tongue can bring death or life;
those who love to talk will reap the consequences. - For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
- My victory and honor come from God alone.
He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. - That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
- A gossip goes around telling secrets,
but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence. - Those who control their tongue will have a long life;
opening your mouth can ruin everything. - Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do!
And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. - I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.
- For,
There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. - And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
- Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
- What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
- Can anyone object to their being baptized, now that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did?
- But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.
- Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.”
- Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen.”
- Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.
- If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.
- Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not!
