Chinese (traditional)- I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope. - To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
- I will never forget your precepts,
for by them you have preserved my life. - For who is God besides the Lord?
And who is the Rock except our God? - Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you,
nations in exchange for your life. - For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.
- The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble. - What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
- So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. - For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
- Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
- Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long. - Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. - Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it. - I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?
- For the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth.
- Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
- For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
- I spread out my hands to you;
I thirst for you like a parched land. - But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.
- Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for him! - Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor. - For the Lord takes delight in his people;
he crowns the humble with victory. - For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.
I spread out my hands to you;
I thirst for you like a parched land.
