I (3/4)

  • I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
  • But he knows the way that I take;
    when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.
    My foot has held fast to his steps;
    I have kept his way and have not turned aside.
  • I will extol you, my God and King,
    and bless your name forever and ever.
  • And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
  • I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father.
  • And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
  • But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
  • But this command I gave them: ‘Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people. And walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.’
  • A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
  • Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
  • So I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
  • I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud
    and your sins like mist;
    return to me, for I have redeemed you.
  • Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.
  • In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
  • I hasten and do not delay
    to keep your commandments.
  • If you turn at my reproof,
    behold, I will pour out my spirit to you;
    I will make my words known to you.
  • I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.
  • The Lord is my light and my salvation;
    whom shall I fear?
    The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
    of whom shall I be afraid?
  • I have not departed from the commandment of his lips;
    I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food.
  • I cried to him with my mouth,
    and high praise was on my tongue.
  • “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
    “therefore I will hope in him.”
  • I ate no delicacies, no meat or wine entered my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, for the full three weeks.
  • I, I am he who comforts you;
    who are you that you are afraid of man who dies,
    of the son of man who is made like grass.
  • If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
  • Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.

I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
