- I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

- The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
What can man do to me? - I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
- For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.
- The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.
- Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.
