- I instruct you in the way of wisdom
and lead you along straight paths. - I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.
- But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.
My feet have closely followed his steps;
I have kept to his way without turning aside. - If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
- A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
- And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
- I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.” - For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more. - But I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in obedience to all I command you, that it may go well with you.
- Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
- I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.
- I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
- I spread out my hands to you;
I thirst for you like a parched land. - I have swept away your offenses like a cloud,
your sins like the morning mist.
Return to me,
for I have redeemed you. - Repent at my rebuke!
Then I will pour out my thoughts to you,
I will make known to you my teachings. - Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.
- I have not departed from the commands of his lips;
I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread. - I will hasten and not delay
to obey your commands. - The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid? - I, even I, am he who comforts you.
Who are you that you fear mere mortals,
human beings who are but grass. - My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
- For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
- I cried out to him with my mouth;
his praise was on my tongue. - I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
- One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.Next verse!With image
