- So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
- Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
- He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good:
and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he. - Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
- For a thousand years in thy sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
and as a watch in the night. - But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
- Be still, and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the heathen,
I will be exalted in the earth. - And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
- I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye. - He revealeth the deep and secret things:
he knoweth what is in the darkness,
and the light dwelleth with him. - Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
for ever. - And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
- Blessed is the man
that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. - Yea, in the way of thy judgments,
O Lord, have we waited for thee;
the desire of our soul is to thy name,
and to the remembrance of thee. - Death and life are in the power of the tongue:
and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. - Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
- If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
- For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
- The Lord is good,
a strong hold in the day of trouble;
and he knoweth them that trust in him. - But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
- And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
- Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
- Some trust in chariots, and some in horses:
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. - Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
- Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
In the multitude of my thoughts within me
thy comforts delight my soul.Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
