- Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting,
“Praise God for the Son of David!
Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
Praise God in highest heaven!” - Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart’s desires. - How wonderful and pleasant it is
when brothers live together in harmony! - Believers who are poor have something to boast about, for God has honored them. And those who are rich should boast that God has humbled them. They will fade away like a little flower in the field.
- Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.
- For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
- Observe the requirements of the Lord your God, and follow all his ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go.
- The one thing I ask of the Lord—
the thing I seek most—
is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
delighting in the Lord’s perfections
and meditating in his Temple. - You are altogether beautiful, my darling,
beautiful in every way. - Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
- Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”
- Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.
- Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
- Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.
- For the Lord delights in his people;
he crowns the humble with victory. - In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God. - I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.
- But I trust in your unfailing love.
I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
I will sing to the Lord
because he is good to me. - So remember this and keep it firmly in mind: The Lord is God both in heaven and on earth, and there is no other.
- But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.
- Glory to God in highest heaven,
and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased. - And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.
- Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! - Whom have I in heaven but you?
I desire you more than anything on earth. - And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.
