From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,

The blessing of him who was about to perish came upon me,
and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. - The precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes. - He said, “Then put away the foreign gods that are among you, and incline your heart to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
- About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.

But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. - As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.
- If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
- But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?
- Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
- And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
