- Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the Lord your God gives you for all time.
- Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
- For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
- Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
- If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.
- Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
- If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.
- Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
- The prudent see danger and take refuge,
but the simple keep going and pay the penalty. - We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
- The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.
- I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.
- If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.
- Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
- Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord;
may your love and faithfulness always protect me. - And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
- Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.
- Sin is not ended by multiplying words,
but the prudent hold their tongues. - Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
- In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety. - Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
- So then, banish anxiety from your heart
and cast off the troubles of your body,
for youth and vigor are meaningless. - And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?
- Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.
- But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will surely live; they will not die.
Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember all the commands of the Lord, that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves by chasing after the lusts of your own hearts and eyes.
