- I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
- Take care, brothers and sisters, that none of you may have an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
- If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
- May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus.
- For his anger is but for a moment;
his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may linger for the night,
but joy comes with the morning. - And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we abound in love for you.
- May my teaching drop like the rain,
my speech condense like the dew;
like gentle rain on grass,
like showers on new growth. - Do not deceive yourselves. If you think that you are wise in this age, you should become fools so that you may become wise.
- Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
- I made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
- I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!
- Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.
- And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he is revealed we may have confidence and not be put to shame before him at his coming.
- May I never boast of anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
- I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him.
- Therefore take up the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand on that evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
- No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.
- What then are we to say? Should we continue in sin in order that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin go on living in it?
- For this purpose he called you through our proclamation of the good news, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- For so the Lord has commanded us, saying,
‘I have set you to be a light for the Gentiles,
so that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ - Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.
- For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one may boast.
- Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear.
- Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land,
who do his commands;
seek righteousness, seek humility;
perhaps you may be hidden
on the day of the Lord's wrath. - Now may the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, make you complete in everything good so that you may do his will, working among us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
