- And steadfast love belongs to you, O Lord.
For you repay to all
according to their work. - Like a city breached, without walls,

for the perverse are an abomination to the Lord,
but the upright are in his confidence. - How can young people keep their way pure?
By guarding it according to your word. - Anxiety weighs down the human heart,
but a good word cheers it up. - But if the wicked turn away from all their sins that they have committed and keep all my statutes and do what is lawful and right, they shall surely live; they shall not die.
- Do not adorn yourselves outwardly by braiding your hair, and by wearing gold ornaments or fine clothing; rather, let your adornment be the inner self with the lasting beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God's sight.
- For he will repay according to each one's deeds.
- Just as water reflects the face,
so one human heart reflects another. - Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord rescues them from them all. - You must understand this, my beloved: let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.

but the prudent ignore an insult. - Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
- He is the reflection of God's glory and the exact imprint of God's very being, and he sustains all things by his powerful word. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
- To make an apt answer is a joy to anyone,
and a word in season, how good it is! - For just as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.
- If any think they are religious, and do not bridle their tongues but deceive their hearts, their religion is worthless.
- For all of us make many mistakes. Anyone who makes no mistakes in speaking is perfect, able to keep the whole body in check with a bridle.
- But the one who did not know and did what deserved a beating will receive a light beating. From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.
- My friends, if anyone is detected in a transgression, you who have received the Spirit should restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness. Take care that you yourselves are not tempted.
- In reply he said to them, “Whoever has two coats must share with anyone who has none; and whoever has food must do likewise.”
