- Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
- You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.
- Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.
- Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
- For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
- Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
- For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
- You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
- Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.
- Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
- Seek good, not evil,
that you may live.
Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you,
just as you say he is. - So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. - So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
- God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
- “Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord.
“Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord. - So that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed.
- So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
- As you do not know the path of the wind,
or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb,
so you cannot understand the work of God,
the Maker of all things. - “Look, he is coming with the clouds,”
and “every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him”;
and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.”
So shall it be! Amen. - This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
- Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave.
- For this is what the Lord has commanded us:
“I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” - So is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. - For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
- I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?Next verse!With image
