But He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and hungry, he and those with him: how he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the showbread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and also gave some to those who were with him?”
And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.” - He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’
- For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
- What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before?
- My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You,
And my soul, which You have redeemed. - If I say, “My foot slips,”
Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up. - You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
- Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
- Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
- Who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
- Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
- And it shall be, when he is guilty in any of these matters, that he shall confess that he has sinned in that thing.
- When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it;
For He has no pleasure in fools.
Pay what you have vowed. - Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.”
- I will praise You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments. - You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
