Whoever (3/4)

  • Those who believe in him are not condemned; but those who do not believe are condemned already, because they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
  • The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
  • He called the crowd with his disciples, and said to them, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”
  • Truly I tell you, if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and if you do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say will come to pass, it will be done for you.
  • And let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer's heart shall flow rivers of living water.’
  • And the world and its desire are passing away, but those who do the will of God live forever.
  • One who forgives an affront fosters friendship,
    but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.
  • How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?
  • Everyone who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
  • He who finds a wife finds a good thing,
    and obtains favor from the Lord.
  • But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.
  • A generous person will be enriched,

  • Like a city breached, without walls,
    is one who lacks self-control.
  • Jesus answered them, “Very truly, I tell you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.”
  • To get wisdom is to love oneself;
    to keep understanding is to prosper.
  • The commandment we have from him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also.
  • The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice;
    he who begets a wise son will be glad in him.
  • Wealth hastily gotten will dwindle,
    but those who gather little by little will increase it.
  • When words are many, transgression is not lacking,
    but the prudent are restrained in speech.
  • But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
  • They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me; and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them.
  • Those who say, “I love God,” and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen.
  • Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.
  • The lover of money will not be satisfied with money; nor the lover of wealth, with gain. This also is vanity.

I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.
