Sin (2/6)

  • Be mindful, O Lord, that mercy and kindness
have been yours from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth
    or my many transgressions,
but remember me in your kindness,
for the sake of your goodness, O Lord.
  • If you forgive others for the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
  • Jesus replied,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
    everyone who sins
    is a slave of sin.”
  • The one who sows in his flesh will reap a harvest of corruption, but the one who sows in the Spirit will reap from the Spirit the reward of eternal life.
  • Blessed is the one whose offense is forgiven,
    whose sin is erased.
  • Those who live according to the flesh can never be pleasing to God.
  • For the wages of sin is death, but the gift freely given by God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • The righteous is remembered with blessings,
but the name of the wicked fades away.
  • Repent, therefore, and be converted so that your sins may be wiped away.
  • If you are angry, do not sin. Do not let the sun set on your anger, and do not give the devil an opening.
  • The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law.
  • Therefore, when someone is guilty of any one of these things, he shall confess the sin he has committed.
  • What then shall we say? Should we persist in sin in order that grace may abound? Of course not! We have died to sin. How can we live in it any longer?
  • Repent and renounce all your transgressions. Otherwise your iniquity will prove to be your downfall.
  • I shall forgive them for their wicked deeds,
and I shall remember their sins no more.
  • There is a way that seems right to a man,
but the end of it leads to death.
  • Everyone who sins comes from the devil,
for the devil has been a sinner
    from the very beginning.
The Son of God appeared for this very purpose:
to destroy the work of the devil.
  • Hence, I advise you to be guided by the Spirit, so that you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
  • Do not love the world
or what is in the world.
If anyone does love the world,
the love of the Father is not in him.
  • But according to Scripture all things have been confined under sin, so that through faith in Jesus Christ what was promised might be given to those who believe.
  • When someone sins and does any of the things that the Lord has forbidden, even if he does not realize he did it, he has still committed an offense and must bear his guilt.
  • We have sinned and done what is wrong, we have acted wickedly and rebelled, we have rejected your commandments and your laws.
  • Everyone who sins breaks the law,
    for sin is lawlessness.
  • He made him who did not know sin to be sin for our sake, so that through him we might become the righteousness of God.
  • Where many words are spoken, sin is not absent,
but whoever restrains his tongue is prudent.

Come to your senses and sin no more. For some of you have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
