- In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
- Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. - Give thanks to Yahweh! Call on his name!
Make his doings known among the peoples. - So is my word that goes out of my mouth:
it will not return to me void,
but it will accomplish that which I please,
and it will prosper in the thing I sent it to do. - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
Yahweh, my rock, and my redeemer. - A fool has no delight in understanding,
but only in revealing his own opinion. - Deliver my soul, Yahweh, from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. - With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor,
but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge. - A fool’s lips come into strife,
and his mouth invites beatings. - Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down,
but a kind word makes it glad. - In all hard work there is profit,
but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty. - If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
- If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
- Keep your tongue from evil,
and your lips from speaking lies. - Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
- When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked is perverse. - But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ be ‘No.’ Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.

but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. - It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife,
but every fool will be quarreling. - Put away from yourself a perverse mouth.
Put corrupt lips far from you. - For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation.
