- Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you told this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it would be done.”
- But say the things which fit sound doctrine.
- The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver.
The heart of the wicked is of little worth. - For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation.
- When they lead you away and deliver you up, don’t be anxious beforehand or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
- Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
but violence covers the mouth of the wicked. - But above all things, my brothers, don’t swear— not by heaven, or by the earth, or by any other oath; but let your “yes” be “yes”, and your “no”, “no”, so that you don’t fall into hypocrisy.
- In my distress I called on Yahweh,
and cried to my God.
He heard my voice out of his temple.
My cry before him came into his ears. - I will bless Yahweh at all times.
His praise will always be in my mouth. - For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
- I haven’t gone back from the commandment of his lips.
I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. - But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ be ‘No.’ Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.
- God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
- You may say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?” When a prophet speaks in Yahweh’s name, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You shall not be afraid of him.
- If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.
- Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh,
but those who do the truth are his delight. - I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’
- Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.
- In that day you will say, “Give thanks to Yahweh! Call on his name! Declare his doings among the peoples! Proclaim that his name is exalted!”
- I will give thanks to Yahweh with my whole heart.
I will tell of all your marvelous works. - When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
- You are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
- The words of a gossip are like dainty morsels:
they go down into a person’s innermost parts. - I heard the Lord’s voice, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”
Then I said, “Here I am. Send me!” - But I tell you, don’t swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God; nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
