Chinese (traditional)“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name! But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him. Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife,
but every fool will be quarreling. But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with the humble is wisdom. So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops. A fool's lips walk into a fight,
and his mouth invites a beating. A man's gift makes room for him
and brings him before the great. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call. And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’ Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ. By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. By insolence comes nothing but strife,
but with those who take advice is wisdom. Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.Next verse!With image
