Chinese (traditional)Take no part in the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather seek to expose them.
For it is shameful even to speak of what deeds people do in secret. O Lord, you have examined me
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I stand;
you perceive my thoughts from a distance. Although we are human beings, we do not engage in battle according to human standards. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which separated and came to rest on each one of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit enabled them to do so. Until a spirit from on high
is poured out upon us,
and the wilderness becomes an orchard
and the fruitful field becomes a forest. And I will ask the Father,
and he will give you another Advocate
to be with you forever. And so you should put to death everything in your nature that is earthly: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desires, and greed (which is idolatry). Let us examine and test our ways
and return to the Lord. And my God will fully supply all your needs out of the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Give thanks to the Lord, invoke his name;
proclaim his deeds among the peoples. I will, thereby, display my greatness and my holiness and make myself known to many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and then you will be my witnesses not only in Jerusalem, but throughout Judea and Samaria, and indeed to the farthest ends of the earth. The one who gives this testimony says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! Do you not realize that you are God’s temple, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? What then? Should we sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Of course not! Blessed be the Lord, day after day,
the God of our salvation, who carries our burden. Selah One person may consider one day to be more sacred than another, while another may judge all days to be alike. Let everyone be convinced in his own beliefs. Do not be concerned about your life and what you will have to eat, or about your body and what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. The Lord abhors lying lips,
but he delights in those who are truthful. As servants of God, behave as free people, but do not use your freedom as a means to cover up wrongdoing. If in speaking I use human tongues
and angelic as well,
but do not have love,
I am nothing more than a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore, he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them the path to follow. When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each one of you from your wicked ways. In the same way, I tell you, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance. Do not withhold kindness from anyone to whom it is due
when it is in your power to grant it. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in their midst. He made him who did not know sin to be sin for our sake, so that through him we might become the righteousness of God. Have mercy on me, O God,
in accord with your kindness;
in your abundant compassion
wipe away my offenses.
Wash me completely from my guilt,
and cleanse me from my sin. Prepare in advance what you want to say,
and return to the Lord.
Say to him, “Take away all guilt
and give us what is good,
so that we may present as offerings
the bullocks from our stalls.” So if I, your Lord and Teacher,
have washed your feet,
you also should wash one another’s feet. To him all the Prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him will receive forgiveness of sins through his name. After you have suffered for a brief period, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and support you.Next verse!With image
