Chinese (traditional)Bible Verses about the Body
- Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own? You have been purchased at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body.
- For just as in one body we have many parts, and the parts do not all have the same function, so we, though many, make up one body in Christ, and individually we are all parts of one another.
- You created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am wonderfully made;
awesome are your works,
as I know very well. - Even should my heart and my flesh fail,
God is the rock of my heart
and my portion forever. - Banish grief from your heart
and ignore the sufferings of your body,
for youth and the prime of life are fleeting. - A cheerful heart is excellent medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - Stay awake and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak.
- Do not pride yourself on your own wisdom;
fear the Lord and turn your back on evil.
This will provide healing for your flesh
and restore strength to your body. - While physical training has some value, the benefits of godliness are unlimited, since it holds out promise not only for this life but also for the life to come.
- And let the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it was for this that you were called together in one body. Always be thankful.
- Therefore, we do not lose heart. Even though our outer self is continuing to decay, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
- Rather, I discipline my body and bring it under control, for fear that after preaching to others I myself may be disqualified.
- Pleasing words are like a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and affording health to the body. - Therefore, heed my words. Do not be concerned about your life and what you will have to eat or drink, or about your body and what you will wear. Surely life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
- There is one body and one Spirit, as well as one hope to which you have been called by your vocation.
- The body is one, although it has many parts; and all the parts, though many, form one body. So it is with Christ.
- Have no fear of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, fear the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
- For all of us fall short in many ways. Anyone who never makes a mistake in speech has reached perfection and is able to control every part of his body.
- If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is preferable for you to lose one part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna.
- Do not be concerned about your life and what you will have to eat, or about your body and what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
- Now we know that if the earthly tent in which we live is destroyed, we have a dwelling prepared for us by God, a dwelling in the heavens, not made with human hands, that will be eternal.
- A husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise a wife should fulfill her conjugal obligations to her husband. For a wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise, a husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
- O God, you are my God,
for whom I have been searching earnestly.
My soul yearns for you
and my body thirsts for you,
like the earth when it is parched,
arid and without water. - The Lord God then formed a woman out of the rib that he had taken from the man. He brought her before the man.
The man said,
“This one is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh.
She shall be called woman
because she was taken from man.”
This is why a man leaves his father and his mother and joins with a wife, and the two become one flesh. - Then he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which will be given for you. Do this in memory of me.”
For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, Jews as well as Greeks, slaves as well as free men, and we were all given the same Spirit to drink.It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior,
one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city.
