Law (2/5)

And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers. And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
If you love me, obey my commandments. If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Well then, am I suggesting that the law of God is sinful? Of course not! In fact, it was the law that showed me my sin. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, “You must not covet.”What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
Observe the requirements of the Lord your God, and follow all his ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go.And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself.
Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.” These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
He proclaimed his covenant—the Ten Commandments—which he commanded you to keep, and which he wrote on two stone tablets. And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
Remember, you must not make any idols of silver or gold to rival me.Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
You must diligently obey the commands of the Lord your God—all the laws and decrees he has given you.Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.
Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches.I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations. We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments.
Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands.Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ. He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is made right in God’s sight—something the law of Moses could never do.Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name.Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
