Law (4/5)

  • This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
  • You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name.
  • The very essence of your words is truth;
    all your just regulations will stand forever.
  • My child, never forget the things I have taught you.
    Store my commands in your heart.
    If you do this, you will live many years,
    and your life will be satisfying.
  • As I learn your righteous regulations,
    I will thank you by living as I should!
  • And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.
  • I will cause your descendants to become as numerous as the stars of the sky, and I will give them all these lands. And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed. I will do this because Abraham listened to me and obeyed all my requirements, commands, decrees, and instructions.
  • Keep the commandments and keep your life;
    despising them leads to death.
  • Your laws are my treasure;
    they are my heart’s delight.
  • That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.
  • Joyful are people of integrity,
    who follow the instructions of the Lord.
  • So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.
  • Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws;
    our heart’s desire is to glorify your name.
  • So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.
  • My child, listen to me and do as I say,
    and you will have a long, good life.
  • Oh, that they would always have hearts like this, that they might fear me and obey all my commands! If they did, they and their descendants would prosper forever.
  • I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.
  • I will hurry, without delay,
    to obey your commands.
  • The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
  • When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the Lord instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do.
  • Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.
  • Moses remained there on the mountain with the Lord forty days and forty nights. In all that time he ate no bread and drank no water. And the Lord wrote the terms of the covenant—the Ten Commandments—on the stone tablets.
  • If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.
  • Now may the God of peace—
    who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus,
    the great Shepherd of the sheep,
    and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—
    may he equip you with all you need
    for doing his will.
    May he produce in you,
    through the power of Jesus Christ,
    every good thing that is pleasing to him.
    All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.
  • I have not departed from his commands,
    but have treasured his words more than daily food.

For the law was not intended for people who do what is right. It is for people who are lawless and rebellious, who are ungodly and sinful, who consider nothing sacred and defile what is holy, who kill their father or mother or commit other murders. The law is for people who are sexually immoral, or who practice homosexuality, or are slave traders, liars, promise breakers, or who do anything else that contradicts the wholesome teaching that comes from the glorious Good News entrusted to me by our blessed God.

Random Bible Verse

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.Next verse!With image
