- Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.
- Commit your way to Yahweh.
Trust also in him, and he will do this:
he will make your righteousness shine out like light,
and your justice as the noon day sun. - He who gets wisdom loves his own soul.
He who keeps understanding shall find good. - Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.
- For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it.
- Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to those who believe, in word, in your way of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity.
- Do all things without complaining and arguing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without defect in the middle of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world, holding up the word of life.
- This is the day that Yahweh has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it! - He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.
- Behold, God is my helper.
The Lord is the one who sustains my soul. - For we know that if the earthly house of our tent is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.
- The heart is deceitful above all things
and it is exceedingly corrupt.
Who can know it?
“I, Yahweh, search the mind.
I try the heart,
even to give every man according to his ways,
according to the fruit of his doings.” - My son, don’t forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my commandments,
for they will add to you length of days,
years of life, and peace. - He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts, yet so that man can’t find out the work that God has done from the beginning even to the end.
- “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are expedient. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be brought under the power of anything.
- By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his only born Son into the world that we might live through him.
- For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
- Make the path of your feet level.
Let all of your ways be established. - Because your loving kindness is better than life,
my lips shall praise you.
So I will bless you while I live.
I will lift up my hands in your name. - Blessed is a person who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love him.
- If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit.
- Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.”
- Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life. - But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”
- You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden.
