- “No weapon that is formed against you will succeed;
And you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord. - The afflictions of the righteous are many,
But the Lord rescues him from them all. - Come close to God and He will come close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
- Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And defend the rights of the poor and needy. - Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. A prayer of a righteous person, when it is brought about, can accomplish much.
- Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you;
He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. - But let justice roll out like waters,
And righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. - Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Rebuke the oppressor,
Obtain justice for the orphan,
Plead for the widow’s case. - For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written: “But the righteous one will live by faith.”
- Then you will discern righteousness, justice,
And integrity, and every good path. - Therefore you have no excuse, you foolish person, everyone of you who passes judgment; for in that matter in which you judge someone else, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
- Search me, God, and know my heart;
Put me to the test and know my anxious thoughts;
And see if there is any hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way. - Righteousness exalts a nation,
But sin is a disgrace to any people. - Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
- He has told you, mortal one, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God? - For the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous,
And His ears attend to their prayer,
But the face of the Lord is against evildoers. - Better is a little with righteousness
Than great income with injustice. - For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
- For the moment, all discipline seems not to be pleasant, but painful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.
- With his mouth the godless person destroys his neighbor,
But through knowledge the righteous will be rescued. - Do not be mismatched with unbelievers; for what do righteousness and lawlessness share together, or what does light have in common with darkness?
- For the Lord is our judge,
The Lord is our lawgiver,
The Lord is our king;
He will save us. - But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, but it is the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction.
- There is a way which seems right to a person,
But its end is the way of death. - Better is the little of the righteous
Than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked will be broken,
But the Lord sustains the righteous.
